About life Skills
Life Skills Supporting Accommodation is located in the West Midlands, providing people aged 16-18 with individually tailored support pathways to independent living.
We enable young people leaving social care to transition to independent living with the security of planned, consistent and comprehensive support.
We consider many factors when young people are coming to stay with us; length of stay, the level of support required, training and employment, and individual budgets and benefits. Packages of support are reviewed regularly to ensure that they remain proactive and purposeful.

What we do
We welcome young people who are preparing to leave care and looking for short term crisis accommodation due to homelessness and family breakdowns.
Staff are available 24 hours per day in person or by telephone to support the young people to complete specific targets to assess their level of independence needs. During their stay, young people will learn about budgeting, shopping, cooking, washing, training or further education, getting a job, making and keeping appointments, paying bills, form filling, accessing services, talking to professionals and most importantly, managing a home.

Work for Life Skills
Work directly with young people to support them with any problems they might have; filling in forms for schools/college, housing, doctors, attending courts etc. The youth support worker will work as part of a team of other staff members led by the Home Manager.
Life Skills requires referring agencies to indicate the levels of support they deem appropriate to meet the needs of the Young Person.
